Around Us

Around Ripostena Hermitages and Romanic Churches are scattered over these hills. This area was an essential junction of the Via Francigena, the network of paths where pilgrims used to travel from North Europe to Rome. Legends and architectural remains are part of the landscape. The Castel of Monteriggioni, the Roman Church of Ponte allo Spino, the Hermitage of San Leonardo al Lago and Lecceto Convent are all within walking range.

We can help you organize your walks with our maps, printed and on line..

Siena and other interesting locations such as the Park of Val d’Orcia, part of UNESCO Patrimony and the Natural Park of Maremma, full of breath taking views in any season can be comfortably reached by car. On request we can suggest places worth visiting (taverns or other interesting places along the way).
